What is SYN-AKE ?

SYN-AKE is derived from Waglerin1 protein contained in the serum of a certain breed of venomous snake. Syn-ake acts specifically on the muscular nicotinic acetylcholine protrusion membrane to inhibit neuromuscular contraction. Its chemical structure is similar to that of venomous snake serum, so it can be safely used in cosmetics.

SYN-AKE is a small peptide that mimics the activity of the snake venomous toxin Waglerin I, found in the venom of the Temple Viper venomous snake (Tripidolaemus wagleri). SYN-AKE is a synthetic tripeptide derivative and a novel active compound similar to snake venom, acting as a muscular nicotinic acetylcholine receptor (nmAChR) antagonist.
