Suggested Use Levels:  Can be used to co-stabilize emulsion, 0.1 – 0.5%. Also used to thicken water-based systems, up to 1 %.
Suggested Applications: Shower gel, shampoo, body wash, hair gel
Formulating Guidelines: This polymer is non-sensitive to electrolytes and high shear rates, stable over large pH range (4 - 7). 
Storage:  Storage temperature < + 30 °C In original sealed containers and protected from moisture.
Shelf life: 3 years from date of manufacture

Xanthan Gum is a natural gum polysaccharide created through fermentation of sugar (glucose or sucrose) by Xanthomonas campestris bacteria. Xanthan Gum is used in cosmetics as a thickener or rheology modifier and emulsion stabilizer. Our Xanthan Gum Clear is a higher purity, cosmetic grade made without hydration retardants for quicker thickening. It produces the clearest gels.  Our Xanthan Gum Clear in solution will have greater viscosity and clarity than our Xanthan Gum Soft, but with more stringing effect.

Xanthan gum produces a large increase in the viscosity of a liquid with the addition of a very small amount of gum. Generally 1%, but as little as 0.1% can be used in many applications. Xanthan Gum is an excellent natural source thickener for lotions, creams, liquid soap, shower gels, body washes and shampoos.

HOW TO USE CLEAR XANTHAN GUM 

Usage rate is between: 0.5 - 2%

Add to the water phase of your formulation.

Mix with glycerin (2-5%)  in order to prevent clumping before adding water. 

IMPORTANT NOTE:

When Making Lotions, Creams, Conditioners or other products that require heating more than 60C, add this to the cool down phase (40C) of your formulation.
Clear Xanthan USP is stable from room temperature to 60C.
